Just for Kicks Taekwondo

Just for Kicks Taekwondo was "officially" named on 29 July 1994 - but had been training under the original name of Oak Flats/Wollondilly Taekwondo Club for many years.  Oak Flats/Wollondilly Taekwondo was formed by Peter Carter (Chuck), 4th Dan.

Mick and Karen together with their team of black belts have a combined training experience of well over 50 years.  Club members have competed and performed exceedingly well in all levels of competition - Inter-Club, State, National and International Championships.

The Just for Kicks Taekwondo way of training offers not only the combination of high energy modern competitive training but the traditional style taegeuk poomse. The club is also committed to the development of safety and confidence programs for children  - Kindy Kwondo, Dragon Kids and Teen Taekwondo.

Kindy KwonDo was nominated under the innovation in children's sport category for the 1998 National Active Australia Awards

The Club has also conducted training trips to Korea.  In September 1997 the second team of club black belts trained at the Sang Rok World Taekwondo Academy in Seoul under the instruction of Master Chang.

Just for Kicks is presently under the Master Instruction of 5th Dan World Master Mick Williams, Head Instructor Taekwondo Australia.  The club though still maintains strong links with Illawarra Taekwondo - and to Mick and Karen's Instructor -  Master Geroge Thomas.  Master Thomas is responsible for the growth and development of Taekwondo in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands Regions.  He has clubs under is governance from Singleton right through to Canberra.

The club has also been involved with the delivery of self defence day seminars and other self defence programs (Women on Wheels).  Classes have been held at University of Wollongong, University of Sydney, Sutherland, Picton, and with the Tahmoor Community Adult Leisure Program.
